“A process is never fully optimized, but it can be improved!” This statement is attributed to one of the foremost icons of quality, Dr. Edward Deming. It embodies Townley’s drive towards continuous improvement. If we do this well, we will be able to serve our valued customers with the quality and delivery they expect each and every time.
Quality
At one time or another, all manufacturing companies have produced parts that didn’t quite make the grade. Human nature compels many companies to sweep these failures under the carpet, direct the responsibility elsewhere, or adopt a denial attitude.
What separates excellent companies like Townley from average companies is what you do with the information after a failure. We are convinced studying our failures is a critical path to improving our processes.
Townley uses failure analysis techniques and team meetings to review failure attributes, assign a potential root cause and devise new or improved methods for production. We test the new methods, document them, and monitor the results. Townley also invests heavily in tools and people to improve quality and consistency.
