Tour of Townley's Florida Facility

Welcome to Townley!

Located on more than 40 acres in central Florida, Townley has over 300,000 square feet of manufacturing under roof.

The corporate office complex holds customer service, sales, engineering and administration.

Foundry

This vertically integrated manufacturing process is very labor intensive and requires a variety of unique skills. Our cast products start with AUTOCAD assuring accurate pattern design, molding and finished casting. Townley has over 3,000 patterns in storage.

Our specialty alloys need to be prepared in exacting proportions. Using the latest “state of the art” optical spectrophotometer, our metallurgist is able to analytically determine and confirm the correct elemental proportions and release the batch.

Once the pour team is given the OK the casting process begins. All critical variables are monitored and recorded during the process. After the requisite heat and quench cycle, the parts are moved to the machine shop for precise dimensioning.

Machine Shop

Townley employs all the traditional large scale machining equipment such as lathes, surface grinders and vertical mills. A great boon to our machining process is our new machine shop with four CNC wide throat vertical mills. Precise fit with repeatable tolerances are assured. Time to cut threads for impellers has been reduced dramatically.

Once the pump parts are machined, final inspection & assembly readies the parts for shipping

Rubber Shop

This shop is divided into three units: fabrication, rubber hose lay-up and rubber lining.

Custom fabricated hose begins with preparation of the flanges and integrated nipples, layup of the hose weartube, fabric and reinforcement on the appropriate mandrel. When complete the hose is staged in the autoclave. After vulcanization the hose is removed from the mandrel, inspected and shipped.

Rubber Lining of pipe and other metal components starts with fabrication or repair on re-lining projects, virgin rubber sheet is accurately cut and applied. The parts are autoclaved and painted to order.

Urethane Shop

All Towniprene™ urethane technology at Townley begins and ends in our lab where formulations are created and after casting a complete battery of physical and chemical testing, assures consistent, high quality.

Our parts start with CNC technology for patterns and molds. Some molds are basic one piece open style, while more complicated products like pump parts and cyclones involve multiple mold components. Lined pipe utilizes a spinner table, to ensure uniform thickness throughout the pipe I.D. After pouring, these parts undergo accelerated oven cure cycles. Once cooled, the parts are de-molded and readied for final trim, inspection and shipment.

Fit and finish is the hallmark of our urethane line. Customers remark as to the high luster and perfect fit in the field.

Submersibles

Townley offers a complete line of dewatering and slurry submersibles coupled with a variety of features to meet the customer applications. Townley also maintains a full inventory and offers a repair service.
